I've finally made it to london!
I can't believe how fast this week has gone by. Everything has been go go go since Monday morning, and as exhausting as it has been, it's been so exciting.
I arrived Sunday after my long, but surprisingly comfortable flight. The plane from Chicago to London was less than half full it seemed so I had three seats to myself to lay down on. I was in heaven. And then I woke up and we were making our way to landing! I had a very kind Turkish driver take me to my flat and the drive in had me smiling the whole way. London. What.
Met the other models staying in the flat Sunday evening, who are all awesome, and went to Portobello market to walk around a bit and get some coffee. By the time that was through I was dead exhausted. Little did I know what I had ahead of me…
Monday morning I finally went to the agency and I was so excited to meet everyone at Premier! Definitely got placed with the best. And my book is pink, how cool is that. After taking some new digitals, I went straight to my first London test shoot! It was located at the London School of Fashion studios, and I enjoyed seeing what a "Uni", as they call it, was like here in the city.
Then Tuesday came and it was just the start of craziness. Basically my day consisted of: Wake up, rush to get ready, run to the tube, run through the tube, run out of the tube, meet client, and repeat (give or take a few bus stations). I did end the day with a test shoot which was fun and a good break! It was so exciting meeting so many awesome companies and clients and seeing so many different areas of London. Theres no way of explaining how crazy but so thrilling these rushed days of casting are though!

Only ended up taking one photo on Tuesday |
Wednesday was the craziest of them all. I had the most on my schedule to do than I had all week, which included castings and go-sees with companies as well as photographers! I especially enjoyed meeting the local photographers and getting to see their work and style, and how different in can be from one person or place to the next. It is the beauty of the art! And I have become a big fan of the London style. I didn't get any photos at all from the day, I barely had time to look up from where I was going, but I did get one photo from our "Model apartment team bonding" moment. We all decided to clean up the kitchen from the leftover food from previous models who had stayed in the flat. It was a very… gross event. But THE KITCHEN IS CLEAN NOW THANK GOODNESS. Surprise, but models are sometimes not the cleanest of the bunch.
For Thursday it was the same routine, but I had more of a relaxed schedule and less of a "running through massive amounts of British people in the Tube" schedule. Which was nice. And I finally got my scone and tea at quite the cute little cafe. And had my very own guide Laura to join me. It was a perfect British moment.

And finally Friday was also less stressful for traveling, but still equally exciting. Started with two castings and had a test shoot in the evening that was very fun. The casting I went to was eventful though, for Laura (the wonderful intern that took me around for the week) and I stood in front of a door waiting for someone to let us in for 15 minutes before we realized we were at the wrong door. By that time, 15 models had already lined up behind us waiting for the door to open. Oops? I can use the excuse of being a tourist, it works every time. Especially on the tube when I don't stand on the right.

My best trait: embarrassing myself |
Thank goodness for watching Friends with Nibar when the wifi's out |
My week has definitely been crazy and busy and stressful but overall super exciting. I love that every day is something new and you never know what is ahead of you! I miss my family and my boyfriend and my sister (and my dog) (and my friends) (and everyone) every day, but this new experience keeps me going. It may force me to be patient all the time, but it sure does make every day an awesome adventure. And I can't believe how many people I have behind me supporting me and praying for me! I am so thankful for every single one of you.
And I dedicate this picture to my last casting. Ever… (I kid. I hope…)
Mckenna: sweetheart this is awesome!! Fun to see the photos, can't wait to see you in person and hear more than just what we remember on face time. I miss you a lot, the house is just a bit quieter and my life is not as busy without you conducting my schedule. Love you bunches. mom
