Being in a big city, I’ve definitely realized how different
the things you do for fun could be.
On Monday the Catching Fire movie premiere
was in town so of course I wanted to go. Colorado doesn’t really have those
opportunities, and what a better first movie premiere to go to than the Hunger
Games. We didn’t actually get to watch the film, but we got to see the stars
and the red carpet and scream like children so it was exciting enough. We only
showed up an hour before they closed off the gates because we had castings
earlier in the day, but even though we weren’t crazy and camped out in front of
the theater in the freezing cold, we still got really got spots. We asked the
security guy for some insider advice on where to go (the red carpet was a huge
circle) and he told us we’d probably have best luck right at the front where
the cars dropped the stars and other important people off.
We ended up standing
right behind a family of three girls, the biggest fan out of them being a
younger girl. Not to mention that we were all taller than them. And I can just
say, best spot ever. What celebrity would not come to a little girl to say hi
and take a picture with her? (Good advice, always stand by cute children) I was
honestly surprised how calm the crowd was, I was expecting more of a crazy
fandom of screaming girls and an anxious group of people. But I honestly didn’t
really know what to expect! The first car pulled up and it was Willow Shields.
She walked over to the other side first, then crossed over to our side and
after going down the line she stopped right in front of us to take a picture
with the girl in front and sign her book. That’s pretty much how it went for
every celebrity who came to take pictures with people or sign something. Until
Liam came out of course. He took the opposite route so because we were at the
end of the line on one side, we missed him. Jennifer did the same thing and I
was bummed because I was most excited to see her, but we did get to see them
both, just from afar! Her new haircut is awesome. We did see Josh up close
before them, and he is quite handsome, but surprisingly shorter than I thought.
It was a perfect first premiere experience! Pictures of Jennifer and Liam are posted here, it's just a picture of their back because that's all I got...

After that we stopped in M&M
World to check it out and because it was freezing a raining. I did learn
something new there, the M&M’s that have the crunch inside of them that I
had when I was younger and wondered what ever happened to them are the UK’s
special flavor! The US has peanut butter M&M’s and they have what they call
biscuit M&M’s. I got myself a bag because they are my favorite types of
M&M’s. Monday was a good start to the week!
Tuesday I had a full day of castings, and my first one was
awesome… Burberry! I love seeing the big fashion offices here, and this was one
of my favorites!
And I finally got to walk past Big Ben on the way to my next
casting, so that was perfect! I’ll be going back there again though, because
just walking by is not long enough. It was so much bigger than I expected. The
waterfront area is my favorite in London from all the places I’ve been to.
Besides castings and go-see’s on Wednesday, there were some
delicious pancakes, cute dogs, and awesome new digitals involved. I stopped by
the agency to pick up more comp cards, and of course when I got there I had
like 5 other things to do while I was there. Julien took more new digitals of
me, and I love them! He’s the best. There was a cute visitor there as well that
I got to spend some time with. I miss my dogs so much.
Nibar and I also
checked out a pancake house that was nearby (because it’s an obsession now) and
oh my goodness I can’t even explain to you how much I love that place. They
have, what I want to call, pizza pancakes basically, and then sweet ones for
dessert. They remind me of the Swedish pancakes you can buy at IKEA, except
they are better of course. When I was trying to understand the menu, I asked
our waitress what butterscotch pancakes were, and she explained to me how they
are the American style pancakes. I then asked what the normal pancakes were and
she explained how they were just the normal pancakes. I just laughed and said
that normal pancakes to me are butterscotch pancakes. Funny how many different
styles of pancakes there really are! Anyways, my dinner was delicious. And my
dessert… Even better. We ate it all before getting a picture though, sorry.

I had two test shoots scheduled for Thursday as well as a
couple of castings before hand that were all one after the other. My second
test shoot, that ended up being a spontaneous one, ended up being such a fun
night. We took so many crazy polaroids, I got fed a delicious dinner and green
tea, and it was overall just a fun night full of cats and weird things. Very
weird things. (And some good pictures of course, but mostly weird)
Friday I HAD A JOB WOOO! I worked with Valerie Philips for
Love Want Magazine and it was such a fun day! Valerie and the crew were awesome
to work with, and I cannot wait until the issue comes out! And the day got even
better when I got home to Nibar’s lovely mother cooking us homemade couscous. I seriously have some awesome roommates and their families are even
better. For this being my first modeling trip, I really feel spoiled and I’m
not sure anything else can live up to how great this adventure has been,
especially how great the people around me are. My agents and my roommates,
everything has been so welcoming! And a message to Nibar’s mother: Dinner was
delicious THANK YOU! I am becoming a fan of Israeli food!
I can’t get over that I get to have these experiences every
day. It was a great week.
